Karch Auto works with most insurance companies with direct connections to Erie, State Farm and Allstate. The years of dealing with and navigating the insurance industry is a benefit you gain by using our repair facility. We can educate you on important areas of an insurance claim such as your right to repair with the facility of your choice and the insurance protocol for part usage. If you have any questions or concerns after you have spoken to your insurance company, we are here to help answer and guide you in the best direction for your interests. Below are some of the steps you may experience.

  1. Reporting your claim, this is important to get the process moving. Your insurance will walk you through their process to get it started. Remember it is your right to have it repaired with a shop you trust.

  2. Estimate, this is the process in documenting the initial damage so your insurance can see what damage is involved. They may direct you to a specific facility or have you download an app so they can do a photo claim. Whatever way they start this process remember you can choose where to repair.

  3. Choosing a shop, this is very important and your right as a consumer no matter what insurance you have. You must choose a shop you are comfortable with. The shop must have the knowledge and skill to explain the process and repair your vehicle with the quality and skill you so rightly deserve. That shop should be able to help you navigate the process and clearly explain the repair and coverage they will provide in accordance with your insurance company.

  4. Scheduling, this is the point the repair facility sets down to explain the process and agree on a repair date. They should explain what the process will be and the steps they are taking to ensure you get the quality repair you deserve.
  5. Rental, after you schedule, it is a good idea to contact the rental company if you have coverage and plan to utilize a rental. They will verify and set up a time to meet you at the shop at your drop off time and coordinate the return after the repair is complete.

  6. Drop off and repair, this is the point the shop makes the necessary repairs to fix the damage from the accident. Disassembling, identifying supplemental damage and performing the job needed to give you safe and quality repair. This is also the time a quality shop will be updating you each step in the repair.

  7. Pick up, after the repairs are made and the shop verified the repairs are complete and quality is met you will be contacted. The shop will review the repairs made and the final billing that will be done. This may involve a pre-issued check, your verified deductible or other finalities needed to complete the repair. Most times insureds have a deductible and most of the repair is issued by the insurance company.
