There are some that should be recognized; most apparently the engine oil and filter. Most vehicles using organic (not synthetic) oil should have the oil changed every 3,000 miles or every three months. The reason you should change the oil after 3 months (even if fewer than 3,000 miles) is that moisture is introduced into the crankcase through condensation. Changing the oil & filter assures that moisture will not accumulate in the crankcase. The smallest amount of water on a bearing surface can cause extensive damage.
Tires; by most manufacturers' requirements need to be rotated every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. That works out to every other organic oil change or every synthetic oil change.
We check your air filter at every oil change service and replace it as needed.
Tune ups consist of little more than replacing spark plugs on modern cars. Each vehicle has its own recommendations on replacement based mostly on type of spark plug used.
Cooling systems still require regular service. Pressure test, drain, flush & refill the engine cooling system every third year, regardless of mileage.
All other services should be followed as per the manufacturers' requirements which can be found in the owner's manual or in our management/information system.
RECOMMENDED SERVICES & INTERVALS
With as many makes and models and combinations of drivetrains available in the automotive market, it is impossible to make consistent recommendations for all service intervals. Here are some general guidelines that can be followed for most vehicles.
